Have you ever wanted to volunteer for the FAST team but didn’t know where to get your qualifications? The HB Fire Art Safety Team is making an effort to increase our volunteer pool by offering a full day of FAST fire safety training on Saturday April 4th, 2020 from 9am – 6pm at Site 3 CoLaboratory by Bloor and Ossington, for $165 per person. (Due to the regulatory nature of the Propane ROT, we have to bring in a third party provider which is the sole driver of costs for this training. We have a maximum of 15 spots.)
Here is a breakdown of what to expect for this training:
Part 1 – Propane ROT / 9am – 3pm
We will be offering Propane ROT (Record of Training) provided by Stephenson’s Rental Services that allows you to connect, disconnect or activate propane heaters and flame effects up to 400,000 BTUs. By the end of this training, you will have a certification card that is recognized by the province of Ontario, and is a mandatory qualification for volunteering as FAST On-Call or FAST Officer of the Day at Hyperborea.
Part 2 – FAST on-call & Flame Effect Inspection Training / 3:30pm – 6pm
After a short break, we will be providing an overview on the roles, responsibilities and other things to expect during a FAST on-call shift at Hyperborea. We will then be doing a live demo on how to conduct Flame Effect Inspections during your FAST on-call shifts. We will be using one pressurized flame effect along with a hand held flame effect as examples to run inspections on.

Formation SAFE de Hyperborea pour la sécurité de feu et « Propane ROT » (registre de formation de propane)
Avez-vous toujours voulu faire du bénévolat pour l’équipe SAFE mais ne saviez pas comment vous qualifier? L’équipe de sécurité des arts de feu et d’étincelles (SAFE) de Hyperborea travail fort afin d’augmenter les bénévoles qualifié en offrant une formation d’une journée. La formation aura lieu samedi,le 4 avril 2020 de 9h à 18h à Site 3 CoLaboratory sur Bloor et Ossington à Toronto, et les frais sont de 165$ par personne. (Suite aux régulations de Propane ROT, nous devons travailler avec une tierce partie afin d’offrir ce cours, ce qui engendre les coûts. Il y a 15 places de disponibles.)
Voici à quoi s’attendre lors de ce cours:
Partie 1 – “Propane ROT” – 9h-15h
Nous offrons la formation “Propane ROT” avec Stephenson’s Rental Services, ce qui nous permettrons connecter, déconnecter ou active les chauffeurs de propane et d’effet de brûlot jusqu’a 400,000 BTU. À la fin de cette formation, vous recevrez une carte de certification reconnue par la province d’Ontario. Elle sera obligatoire afin d’être bénévole en tant qu’agent SAFE sur appel, ou agent SAFE du jour à Hyperborea.
Partie 2 – Formation sur l’équipe SAFE sur appel et l’inspection des effets de brûlots – 15h30-18h
Après une courte pause, nous ferons un survol sur les rôles, les responsabilités et toute autre chose qui peuvent arriver lors d’un quart de bénévolat en tant qu’agent SAFE sur appel à Hyperborea. Nous ferons une démonstration en direct portant sur l’inspection des effets de brûlots lors d’un quart de bénévolat en tant qu’agent SAFE sur appel. Nous utiliserons un effet de brûlot sous pression ainsi qu’un effet de brûlot portatif afin de faire des montrés des exemples d’inspections.
Si vous avez toujours voulu en savoir plus sur le monde des arts de feu et des effets de brûlots, c’est une excellente opportunité pour les débutants.
