Ranger Training
We are always on the lookout for more rangers!

Rangers are participants who volunteer a portion of their time to ensure the safety and well being of participants. They are not cops or security guards, or nor are they here to stop anyone from having any experience they want.  Their efforts are non-confrontational & unobtrusive. For example – they won’t stop you from climbing up that giant piece of art, but will call for help if you fall off.

If you interested in volunteering to be a Ranger for Hyperborea, being a liaise with the community, other departments and external agencies, there will be training pre-event and at the event. Please email the ranger leads at rangers@tohyperborea.ca for more information.

Volunteers
Hyperborea is run entirely by our team of amazing volunteers. The more hands we have making the festival run the better it is and we’d love you to be part of it. given the ability to select various volunteer shifts, below is a link to some descriptions around those positions.

Remember, if you volunteer 8 hours in good standing at Hyperborea, you get access to the volunteer directed sale the following year. If you have any questions or concerns please email volunteer@tohyperborea.ca

More information in regards to opportunities can be found here http://www.tohyperborea.ca/volunteer/volunteer-opportunities/

Fire
The Fire Art Safety Team is here to help participants safely bring fire art to Hyperborea. This includes fire performances, controlled burns, and flame effects. Our department is comprised of experienced artists, fire safety volunteers, and trained professionals.

Ahead of Hyperborea we are here to inform you of requirements for fire safety.
Flame effects must comply with NFPA160 and must be inspected by FAST. When you arrive at the event with a flame effect please check in with FAST for a quick inspection. If you intend to burn an art piece you are responsible for a burn plan and staffing a perimeter. In either situation you need to contact FAST at fast@tohyperborea.ca as soon as possible.

For additional information check out http://www.tohyperborea.ca/participate/fire/

If you apply for after the 29th, we will still try and place your camp, it may just not make it onto the official map. You can submit your theme camp with this handy link:
